An HR Solutions study found a 41 percentage point difference between how engaged employees versus disengaged employees feel about their respective organization’s human resources policies and procedures.

Eighty percent of engaged employees and 39 percent of disengaged employees agreed with this statement: “I am satisfied with this organization's Human Resources/Personnel policies.”

When it comes to the survey item, “I am satisfied with the consistency of HR policies between departments,” of the employees most satisfied 65% were engaged employees while only 3% were disengaged employees.

Murat Philippe, principal consultant for HR Solutions, stated, “The difference between engaged and disengaged employees becomes painfully obvious when conducting the in-person focus groups. The disengaged employees tend not to respect or adhere to policies (e.g., tardiness, attendance, dress code) while their more positive counterparts, engaged employees, are more policy compliant and thus require far less of their supervisor’s time on these matters.”

HR Solutions’ Normative Database is comprised of more than 2.2 million respondents from 2,100 organizations across various industries.
