Police in Florida have arrested a supervisor on charges that he hit an employee with a baseball bat in a dispute over the employee's performance.

Witnesses told police in St. Johns County that a fight broke out between a supervisor of a landscaping crew and a worker after the supervisor complained about how the employee was cutting the grass, the Florida Times-Union reports.

After the fight, the supervisor went to his vehicle to retrieve an aluminum baseball bat, according to the police report.

The worker grabbed a weed whacker to defend himself, but the supervisor was able to hit him several times in the chest before the incident ended when a co-worker grabbed a hammer and intervened, according to the police report.

Police arrested Lance Tywan Wamley on charges of aggravated battery and aggravated assault with deadly intent.
